What is eyebrow microblading

What is eyebrow microblading

Permanent eyebrow makeup is becoming a thing of the past. It has been replaced by microblading. Now this procedure is among the most popular, as it provides a more natural result. But at the same time, many do not understand the difference. How eyebrow microblading is done and what kind of procedure it is – let's figure it out right now.

The concept of eyebrow microblading

This term refers to the technique of manual tattooing - semi-permanent makeup. It is done by the artist manually, applying strokes that imitate hairs.

Microblading is ideal for correcting shape, allows you to fill in gaps and visually makes eyebrows thicker and more symmetrical.

Features of the procedure execution

Microblading is done using a special tool with a microblade - a manipulator. The master cuts the top layer of skin and introduces pigment. The question immediately arises - is microblading painful and how long does it last? We answer: the process of applying strokes is fast and feels more pleasant than permanent makeup or, especially, tattooing. On average, the process lasts up to 2-2.5 hours.

The microblading procedure is carried out in 2 stages. First, the main session, and after 4-6 weeks, correction. Healing lasts up to 10 days. During this period, it is important to ensure proper eyebrow care and follow the master's recommendations.

The result lasts up to 1.5 years. How long microblading lasts depends on several factors: the quality of the dye, skin type, body characteristics and color. The pigment gradually loses color and intensity and disappears in about a year and a half. After - microblading can be repeated.

Differences from other procedures

Today, salons offer several methods of eyebrow correction, each of which has certain features:

  • machine tattooing - provides deep pigment insertion, the result lasts up to 5 years, eyebrows are bright and clear;
  • powder spraying - lasts up to 2 years, provides even coverage and a soft gradient;
  • paint or henna - refers to cosmetic procedures and is used professional cosmetics for eyebrows. Coloring does not involve puncturing the skin, the paint is applied to its surface. This method is less traumatic and simple, but also cannot provide a long-term result.

Microblading stands out against these procedures for several properties at once. Firstly, due to manual execution, it is possible to imitate the structure of hairs as accurately as possible and the eyebrows look natural. This distinguishes the procedure from spraying, and from paint, and from tattooing.

If we talk in more detail about what distinguishes microblading and classic tattooing, what is the difference between them, then it is worth paying attention to the depth of pigment introduction. With microblading, it is introduced only into the upper layers of the epidermis, while with tattooing it is driven deep into the layers of the skin. Another difference is the duration of the result. With tattooing, it can last up to 5 years, but the color gradually changes, becomes lighter, a bluish tint appears. With microblading, the effect lasts up to 1-1.5 years, the pigment simply becomes lighter, does not change the shade towards blue. Well, the third difference is the visual effect. Classic makeup provides a dense overlap of the entire eyebrow, while with microblading, hairs are drawn without filling the space between them, which makes it possible to provide a natural result.

Pros and Cons of Microblading

Like any other procedure, microblading also has positive and negative properties.

The advantages include:

  • aesthetics;
  • natural result;
  • durability – no need to apply makeup every day, neat shape and rich color last for a long time;
  • possibility of individual color selection – materials for eyebrow correction are available in a large palette of shades;
  • ideal for correcting asymmetry, shape and thickness of eyebrows.

Microblading has significant advantages, which explains the popularity of the service in salons. But at the same time, there are also disadvantages:

  • the result directly depends on the qualifications and experience of the master;
  • requires mandatory correction;
  • the color lasts up to 1.5 years maximum, and the brightness gradually fades away;
  • an individual reaction in the form of an allergy or pigment rejection is possible.

Microblading is also not very suitable for girls with problematic or oily skin, since the result does not last as long and there is a risk of uneven pigmentation.

Finally, we note that most of the negative aspects are relative and many can be leveled out if you sign up for the procedure with an experienced specialist who uses branded professional materials. Therefore, if you want to make natural eyebrows using the microblading technique, you should definitely contact a trusted salon.
